kevin love - what new

Monumental in Minnesota

Kevin Love's 31-point, 31-rebound effort for the Minnesota Timberwolves last week against the New York Knicks was absolutely ridiculous. It was the first time in 28 years that an NBA player had put together a 30-30 game. Moses Malone was the last to do it with 38 points and 32 rebounds for Houston against Seattle in 1982. Golden State of Affairs

This season has been much more optimistic. It would be great if Golden State could make the playoffs. The Warriors have great, rambunctious fans in that city, which makes for an electric atmosphere in the post-season. Yao, it hurts

In his first three seasons, the Houston Rockets centre only missed two of 246 games - amazing durability for someone with a large 7-foot-6 frame. The seven-time all-star has been ordered by doctors to only play a maximum of 24 minutes a game and cannot play back-to-back games in the hope of prolonging his career and health. It's really a shame we can't see more of a guy who has career averages of 19.0 points, 9.2 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game.

Lakers Deeper

Barnes is a spark off the bench and can fill a solid 20-22 minutes a game at the shooting guard/small forward position. He'll give Kobe Bryant and Ron Artest some much needed rest in what should be another long post-season in La La Land. Beasley has scored relentlessly, and Kevin Love if you haven't heard by now put up 31 points and 31 rebounds against the New York Knicks in one of the most epic combacks in recent history.

Kevin Love is playing the PF and Beasley is playing the SF and have shown some serious flashes of being a dynamic duo for time to come, it's time to evaluate that.

First off let me say that Beasley and Love are not Superman and Batman, I think that's a title for the likes of LeBron and Wade and Love and Beasley's superhero name-afters will probably be announced later on in the season. Michael Beasley

We knew that Beasley is talented but this year Beasley came to the Timberwolves without distraction in Minnesota, and most importantly an opportunity. What people fail to realize is that Beasley is a 21 year old 3-year veteran still growing into his game.

This left handed swing-post man has shown flashes of doing it all, capitializing on scoring 25+ points 4 straight times shooting over 50% from the field, embracing the leadership role yelling across the court, wanting the ball every fourth quarter, learning from his mistakes and applying them in games.

Beasley is putting faith in Wolves fans that they havent seen in years, hopefully he get's better.

Kevin Love

Despite the 30-30 game, Wolves fans have been raving about Kevin Love since his rookie season and have always seen the talent that he possessed, but it's even a shock to me to see that Love is averaging 18 points and 14 rebounds a game. I predicted 15 points and 13 rebounds a game before the season started, but this Kevin Love is much different than last season.

Head coach Kurt Rambis was resistant to play Kevin Love big minutes last season, and it's astonishing to me that if this was the effort that Love put in last season, he would have started over Al Jefferson. His post game and defense needs work, but it's easy to see that Love is a all-star caliber player in the NBA.

Can They Play Together Long Term

Beasley and Love are both interchangeable, both can play in the perimeter and in the post, both can rebound but the fact that their core strengths aren't the same and that their overall game isn't the same, their chemistry on the court shows.
